Embark on your next Washington State wine retreat with your girlfriends, have the ultimate romantic escape, attend a concert or enjoy a tranquil getaway, over the mountains, through the pass, into the desert, above the Columbia River Gorge, at this stunning Tuscan hidden gem with breathtaking views of the river, just minutes from The Gorge Amphitheater at the Cave B Inn & Spa!
There is no need to leave here as it has it all: Pool, winery with an entertainment concert stage, spa, an American restaurant with a full bar + room service, it’s a 10 minute walk to The Gorge Amphitheater, there’s hiking trails that lead down to the Columbia River & vineyards to walk through! Bring fido too! They love our four-legged fur kid’s here!
Stay in the two-story basalt cavern rooms, retreat to your very own Tuscan delight at a Cliffehouse, be one with nature in a desert yurt or stay in a modern box of a condo with floor to ceiling glass at the Cave B Condo’s! Jaw dropping views of the beautiful Columbia River Gorge can be seen from most rooms, along with the most stunning colorful sunsets.
The 2-story building that these 12 units are situated in makes you feel like you’re walking into a cave, being surrounded by basalt rocks – hence the name, cavern rooms! First thing you notice upon entering is just how spacious these rooms are, featuring floor-to-ceiling glass views and outdoor sitting areas, along with a nice lawn space just outside the sliding glass door, overlooking the Columbia River Gorge. Each have a nice soaker tub and electric fireplace to cozy up to.
Tip: If bringing your dogs, request the 1st level for easy grass pottying access. Be aware, folks can ‘turn-up’ some after wine tasting or after returning from a concert, so if you leave your dog’s behind for dinner, you may get a little phone call from the front desk saying to go get them, only to find a party is being thrown in the unit above you… You are in the middle of nowhere and folks are there to have a good time… What can you do!?
Separated to individual units, you feel like you’re staying in your very own super spacious Tuscan home without neighbors honing in on either side of you. The patio terrace has loungers to relax on during the day or at night to watch the sunset, along with grass space for easy access for your pups to relieve themselves! There’s a double-way fireplace between the bed & the living space to cozy up to at the end of the night. The deep soaker tubs are perfect for relaxing & sipping on a glass of chilled wine taken to the room after wine tasting – I must’ve soaked for almost 3 hours! I was ‘in the relaxing zone’, clearly!
These definitely top the views compared to the cavern rooms. They also offer more space and are more family-friendly.
I liked this room best compared to our previous stay in the cavern room with/without our pups because it felt more secluded + the exterior of the room is stunning! The grass access for the pup’s without having neighbors so close was great, so the dogs didn’t feel the need to dart off and say hi to everyone who was on their patio like last time, staying in the caverns!
Ask the front desk to come light your fireplace if needed. Ours didn’t work & it was so late, they couldn’t figure it out over the phone, but it was a quick fix, just too late to ask them to come to our room. They were kind enough to waive our $30/pet fee for the inconvenience! Thinking… Wine, cozied up around the fire with my husband and kid’s…. We took the swap without a complaint! We can do that at home! 😉
Immerse yourselves in the picturesque setting, overlooking the Columbia River Gorge, with fields and vineyards surrounding you, staying in a uniquely designed luxury yurt during your ‘glamping’ getaway. This charming village of 25 yurts, maximizes views, with a private patio and a skylight on top of the bed for stargazing, while being fully equipped, offering high-end comforts like luxury linens, electricity and a bathroom! They really put the glam in ‘glamping!’ You won’t miss having a TV here! UNPLUG!!!
Tips: It’s tough to filter noise here because of the concerts AND it’s very windy – think someone hitting the side of your tent constantly when the winds pick up… I hear with the upcoming expansion here, this village may be dissolved soon, so try it out while you can if you want your ‘glamping’ fix!
This is the perfect place to UNPLUG! The cell coverage is very spotty here, so be ready to engage with those you’re staying with, relax, just truly enjoy it all, unplugging from the hustle & bustle of normal life!
Offering a unique experience in these steel container box type of tiny homes or casitas, overlooking the Gorge, you get that modern and simplistic feel with floor to ceiling glass in the living rooms, while feeling like you’re in a glorified hotel room with all the essentials, but no shared walls with your neighbors! They really maximize the space in here as each unit is fully equipped with a kitchen, dining, living room and outdoor patio space with BBQ. Think coffee, Happy Hour, dinner outside… The patio area is where you’ll likely be hanging with such incredible Gorge-ous views!
Walking distance to Cave B Estate Winery, Cave B Inn & Spa and a 10 min walk to the Gorge Amphitheater.
Tips: Says it’s fit for 4, but I wouldn’t push it. Fit for a couple or a couple with a kid! Your guests will be sleeping in the living area on a pull-out bed or futon, surrounded by floor to ceiling glass walls… Not ideal!
We were informed a pool is to be built for these condos in the near future. If you AIRBNB them on the side, you do NOT have complimentary access to the Cave B Inn Resort & Spa pool, but you can pay a hefty $50 per person day fee. That’s a huge bummer! Book through the hotel so you don’t miss out!
If you do have more than 2 people, consider renting out the 2 bedrooms’ being built just behind these on the man-made lake, to be completed by the end of 2020. Now those are NICE with 2 master bedroom’s (almost – a couple feet away to the bathroom) and you have a man-made lake to dabble your feet in, float or to layout at on their little beach!
American food with a fantastic view, atop the hillside overlooking the resorts grounds & Columbia River, in the main lodge. The menu consists of locally sourced ingredients with a variety of offerings, catering to many diets. Pastas, salads, soups, seafood, organic meats, artisanal cheeses, & fresh produce from the Chef’s very own on-site garden are just to name a few! The overall quality of the food, presentation and flavor are top notch, so it does come with a price tag, BUT it’s by far the best food you’ll find in the immediate area. Enjoy the view from the floor to ceiling glass windows or dine out on the patio!
Brunch | 8AM-3PM daily *Every Sunday or Concert Weekend, a brunch buffet is served.
Dinner | 5PM-9PM

Food is scarce out here without driving a good 25-30 min into town, so be sure to make a reservation in advance! Our first night in we almost didn’t get a table because we hadn’t made a reservation & the resort was packed. How unfortunate that’d be, feeling like you’re in the middle of nowhere and now have to drive great lengths to town to get a half decent meal. Thankfully they allowed us to melt out on the patio – our request, so we got in! Phew! Summer’s are busy, so book early!
The meals are HUGE! They know that they’re the only place to find food on property, so they hook you up with a doggie bag to go home, every time, knowing you’ll want to snack more later! Makes up for the prices for sure! Think $16 cocktails… $30 pasta dishes. So worth it, knowing you don’t have to drive and… Everyone else on property is there! Suck it up and enjoy!
You can request patio seating. Since it was in the 90’s when we went, we asked if they would open the patio for us because it was visibly closed because who would want to sweat their arses off out there eating!? We do, we do! They were so kind to open it for us and although a little uncomfortable at first (our choosing), after sunset it was perrrrfect out and before we knew it, the entire patio was full! Just ask and they’re happy to cater, just know what you’re signing up for. Nothing some water or a chilled cocktail can’t help you get through for the first 20min! 😉
We hear a new bar renovation will be underway with new ownership soon…
The spicy shrimp was unbearably HOT for me and I love spice! Just saying, beware!
Breakfast is offered too, but usually they fill you up so much the night before, a coffee & freshly baked cookie in the lobby will do! 😉
There is so much to do on-site, there’s really no reason to leave or drive! Everything here is within walking distance!
Cave B Estate Winery | An on-site winery, in the middle of the desert!? YES!! A short walk from the main lodge! Although not affiliated anymore with the resort, there is a great selection of award-winning wines to taste. Taste or grab a bottle & sit outside, overlooking the lawn where you can have your pup(s) by your side, listening to live music at the entertainment venue when shows are going! We love bringing our own picnic, tasting & taking a bottle back to our room to watch the sunset with on our patio!

Pool | Are we in Arizona or Italy? Feels that way at this stunning lap pool overlooking the cliff-side! I love sitting out here in the morning drinking coffee, catching up on light work e-mails, enjoying the peaceful, yet stunning setting, while enjoying mid-day sun fun, relaxing, indulging on a fruity concoction, pool-side!
There are no servers at the pool (not the 2x we’ve been anyway – I believe service is offered on the weekends only) and you are not allowed to bring your own food & beverage. You have to hike all the way up to the main lodge to order a cocktail. Get your ‘pool boy’ ready! Luckily mine doesn’t like the sun much, so I put him on cocktail duty! ;P
Hiking | Explore the ancient 2-mile lakes trail in the morning, passing by lakes and towering basalt cliffs before the heat intensifies! Dramatic desert vistas are all around you, then there you’ll find yourself dropping down to the Columbia River.
Inspiration Point (25 min hike): The flat, very walk-able terrain, leads to a peaceful and stunning lookout point. The dramatic basalt cliffs at this point are really unique! Just be smart and use caution, staying well back from the cliff edge!
Grab a hiking trail map from the front desk!
Tips: If hiking in the Summer, go first thing in the AM! It gets HOT and there’s NO shade, at all! It is usually pretty windy in the afternoon’s which helps.
Wear sports shoes because the terrain gets pretty rough. I was thinking, carry a glass of wine and walk down in my sandals…. No… NIKES!
BEWARE… There’s rattlesnakes and bobcats out here! Just leave them alone and pass by, keeping your distance if you run into them 😉
Beaumont Cellars | Taste in a rustic room or outside on the Crushpad, where grapes are crushed, seasonal dinners are held with local chef offerings w/ of course wine pairings & live music, and also a place where fido can sit alongside you! The best time to visit Quincy to enjoy all the outdoor activities is definitely the Summertime, July through late August!
